Once a UPSC aspirant, Anubhav Dubey has transformed his life by establishing a thriving tea business, Chai Sutta Bar, which generates an impressive annual revenue of approximately Rs 150 crore. His personal net worth is estimated at around Rs 10 crore.
From Aspirations to Entrepreneurship
Despite not securing admission into prestigious IITs or IIMs, Anubhav Dubey has shown that success can be achieved through unconventional paths. His partnership with Anand Nayak in founding Chai Sutta Bar has become a remarkable story in the bustling café industry. In a country where chai is a staple morning ritual, their venture has resonated deeply with many.
The Birth of Chai Sutta Bar
In 2016, Anubhav made the courageous decision to abandon his UPSC exam preparations and pursue entrepreneurship instead. With Anand by his side, they embarked on their business journey with limited resources, managing to raise just Rs 3 lakhs to launch their first tea shop near a girls’ hostel. This move marked the beginning of their tea empire.
Expanding the Empire
Today, Anubhav and Anand have successfully opened over 400 Chai Sutta Bar outlets across 195 major cities in India. Their ambition doesn’t stop at national borders; they have also established locations in international markets like Dubai, the UK, Canada, and Oman. The brand’s annual turnover of roughly Rs 150 crore underscores their remarkable achievement.
Supporting Communities
Chai Sutta Bar’s success extends beyond financial gains; it supports a social cause by providing a livelihood to around 250 potter families, who create traditional kulhads for the chai served in their outlets. Additionally, Anubhav has built a diverse team of over 150 employees, including professionals from engineering and MBA backgrounds, reflecting the venture’s dedication to growth and inclusivity.
