The viral image circulating on social media claims that the company supplying ghee for the ‘prasadam’ (laddus) at the Tirupati Balaji temple is based in Pakistan. However, Channeliam Fact Check has thoroughly investigated this claim and found it to be completely false.

Investigation Findings

Upon investigation, Channeliam Fact Check discovered that the viral claims were misleading. A review of company information on the website OpenCorporates revealed that the actual supplier of ghee to the temple is ‘AR Dairy Food Private Limited,’ a Tamil Nadu-based company, not AR Foods Private Limited from Pakistan. The similarity in names has contributed to the confusion.

Background of the Claim

The quality of the laddus at the Tirupati temple has recently garnered attention after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that substandard ingredients and animal fats were used in their preparation during the previous YSRCP government. YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has firmly denied these allegations, adding to the controversy surrounding the temple’s prasadam.

What Went Viral?

The viral image shows the names of several individuals associated with a company called AR Foods Private Limited, suggesting they are located in Pakistan. Posts sharing this image assert that this company is responsible for supplying ghee to the Tirupati temple. One widely shared post stated, “The following are the names of the top management of the Tamil Nadu company that supplies desi ghee to Tirupati Balaji,” along with screenshots of employees’ names purportedly linked to Pakistan.

Conclusion

Channeliam Fact Check has effectively debunked the viral claim, confirming that the image linking a Pakistani firm to the Tirupati temple’s ghee supply is based on misinformation. Individuals are encouraged to exercise caution and verify claims before sharing them on social media. This incident underscores the importance of fact-checking in an age where misinformation can spread rapidly.
