Shankh Air is a new domestic airline based in Uttar Pradesh, set to be the state’s first scheduled carrier. It will operate from the new Noida International Airport and plans to begin service with a fleet of Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. The airline has already initiated the certification process with the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Operational Focus
Shankh Air, founded by Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma, aims to provide full-service passenger travel with a focus on safety, sustainability, and reliability. It plans to connect cities across India, especially focusing on the Delhi NCR region, including Noida, Greater Noida, Meerut, Ghaziabad, and Agra. The airline aims to create an international-standard aviation hub at Noida.
Key Destinations
Shankh Air plans to connect major Indian cities such as Lucknow, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur, along with emerging airports like Bhogapuram, Pune, and Navi Mumbai. Its strategy focuses on serving under-served routes with high demand, improving connectivity in regions with limited flight options.
Strategic Advantages
With its hub at Noida International Airport, Shankh Air aims to capture high-volume routes in the Delhi NCR region and beyond. It plans to offer a two-class service, setting it apart from low-cost carriers, and will maintain competitive pricing to attract budget-conscious travellers.
Competitive Edge
By focusing on neglected routes, providing customer-centric services, and collaborating with the Noida International Airport, Shankh Air hopes to carve out a niche in India’s competitive aviation market, competing against established players like IndiGo and Air India.
