Pradeep Bakshi has been at the helm of Voltas Limited, a prominent Tata Group company, as Managing Director and CEO since 2018. With nearly three decades of experience in the consumer durables sector, Bakshi has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and financial success.

Career and Contributions

Bakshi, an alumnus of the University of Delhi, began his career at Electrolux Kelvinator before joining Voltas in 2001. His initial role at Voltas involved several senior positions, including leading the air cooling products division. Under his leadership, this division saw significant increases in both profits and sales.

About Voltas Limited

Founded in 1954 as a joint venture between Volkart Brothers and Tata Sons, Voltas Limited is a major multinational home appliance company based in Mumbai, India. As of June 15, 2024, Voltas has a market capitalization of Rs 49,585 crore.

Compensation and Benefits

In the fiscal year 2024, Bakshi’s total annual compensation amounted to Rs 7.21 crore, as reported in Voltas’ annual report. This includes a base salary of Rs 1.25 crore, perks and allowances totaling Rs 2.90 crore (which includes retirement benefits), and Rs 3.06 crore in commissions. These payments are scheduled for FY25.

Additional Roles and Achievements

Beyond his role at Voltas, Bakshi serves on the Board of Directors for Voltbek Home Appliances Ltd. He has also been Head of Operations at UPBG for 12 years, demonstrating his capability and adaptability. His efforts have earned him several accolades, including the President’s Award for Energy Conservation and the 2013 Appliances Man of the Year title.

Pradeep Bakshi’s leadership at Voltas has been marked by strategic growth and substantial achievements, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the consumer durables industry.
