The Tata Curvv ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) has been officially launched in India, marking its entry into the market with introductory prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh for the base petrol variant and ₹11.49 lakh for the base diesel variant. These introductory prices are set to increase from November 2024. This launch follows closely after the Curvv EV, which is priced starting at ₹17.49 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom). The Curvv ICE will be available in eight variants and six colour options, featuring three engine choices and multiple gearbox configurations.
Design Overview
The Tata Curvv ICE shares a design language similar to its electric counterpart, the Curvv EV. Key differences include the front grille and air vents. The Curvv ICE maintains the coupe SUV design, distinguishing itself in the segment alongside the Citroen Basalt. This design approach aims to blend sporty aesthetics with practical functionality.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Tata Curvv ICE offers a well-appointed cabin reminiscent of the Curvv EV. The interior features a 4-spoke steering wheel similar to that of the Tata Harrier, along with a strip of ambient lighting running across the dashboard, enhancing the premium feel. The cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, an air purifier, and ventilated front seats. Safety is well addressed with six airbags standard across all trims, while higher trims will include ADAS features, an electronic parking brake, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Engine Options
The Tata Curvv ICE will be available with three engine options:
- A 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine delivering 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque.
- A new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine producing 123 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque.
- A 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque.
These engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, making the Tata Curvv ICE the first diesel vehicle in its segment to offer a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Tata Curvv ICE will compete with several key players in the segment, including the Citroen Basalt, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, and Volkswagen Taigun.
