Following closely behind are two influential figures in the Indian business landscape. Falguni Nayar, the founder of Nykaa, ranks second with a net worth of ₹32,200 crore. Her innovative approach in the beauty and lifestyle sector has significantly contributed to her wealth. In third place is Jayshree Ullal, CEO of Arista Networks, who has amassed a net worth of ₹32,100 crore. Ullal’s strategic leadership in the tech industry has earned her a prominent position on the list.
Youngest Self-Made Entrepreneur: Neha Bansal
The list also features Neha Bansal, co-founder of Lenskart, who is recognized as the youngest self-made woman entrepreneur. With a net worth of ₹3,100 crore, Bansal’s achievement in revolutionising the eyewear retail industry underscores her remarkable entrepreneurial success at a young age.
Juhi Chawla Shines Among Bollywood Stars
Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla, who also co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders, has secured the sixth position on the list. Her net worth stands at ₹4,600 crore. Chawla’s successful career in film and her business ventures have contributed to her impressive wealth. Additionally, she has earned the second spot in the Silver Screen Titans category, highlighting her significant impact in the entertainment industry.
Notable Names in Bollywood
The Hurun India Rich List also highlights several other prominent Bollywood personalities. Shah Rukh Khan, making a notable debut on the list, holds a net worth of ₹7,300 crore. His contributions to Indian cinema and his business ventures have propelled him to significant wealth. Other notable names include Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Karan Johar, all of whom have achieved substantial success in their respective fields.
Growing Trend of Self-Made Wealth
Anas Rahman Junaid, founder and chief researcher at Hurun India, emphasises the increasing trend of self-made wealth in the country. “The fact that 65% of the list consists of self-made individuals, compared to 54% five years ago, highlights a significant shift. Additionally, 64% of new entrants this year are self-made, reflecting a growing entrepreneurial spirit,” Junaid remarked.
