Anand Mahindra, the renowned industrialist and social media influencer, has recently rekindled his fond memories of Mysore, a city he recalls from his childhood. In a tweet, Anand Mahindra shared his nostalgic experiences of stopping in Mysore on his way to Ooty during his boarding school years. He expressed a renewed interest in exploring Mysore, which he views as a symbol of India’s evolving travel appeal.

I have strong Mysore Memories.

Used to stop there on the way to Ooty during my boarding school days.

This place sounds symbolic of the new & exotic experiences that are sprouting throughout the country and helping push us up on the list of favoured global travel destinations.… https://t.co/JKiRwCPeMH

Anand Mahindra’s curiosity about Mysore was sparked by a detailed post from a user on X (formerly Twitter), who visited the city three times last year. The user’s thread highlighted several compelling reasons to include Mysore on any travel itinerary.

Among the highlights:

  • Naviluna Chocolate Factory: Located just minutes from Mysore Palace, this bean-to-bar factory operates out of a restored 120-year-old house. It offers an immersive experience in artisanal chocolate making, featuring traditional restoration techniques and unique chocolate flavors.
  • Kannada Influence: The factory’s design incorporates Kannada elements, including the letter “n” and the name “Naviluna,” derived from the Kannada word for peacock.
  • Artisanal Craft Chocolate: Visitors can taste innovative chocolate creations in the factory’s tasting room, including unusual combinations like bamboo shoot and dark chocolate.
  • Small Batch Production: Naviluna’s focus on small-batch production highlights distinct flavor profiles influenced by the “terroir” of the beans.
  • Charming Brasserie: The factory also houses a brasserie where guests can enjoy specialty drinks and rich brownies, enhancing the overall experience.

Additionally, Anand Mahindra’s tweet referenced the Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery, known for its impressive collection of Raja Ravi Verma paintings, adding to Mysore’s cultural allure.

The exchange between Anand Mahindra and the X user underscores Mysore’s blend of historical charm and modern attractions, capturing the imagination of travelers and prominent figures alike.
