Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has unveiled plans for a new 500-metre beach exclusively for women in the Lulu’iya area of Khorfakkan. This initiative aims to provide a private and secure environment for women, complete with a range of facilities and services.
Beach Features and Facilities
The new beach will feature essential amenities including a café, medical clinic, and prayer room, ensuring a comfortable experience for women and children. Additionally, the beach will have dedicated areas for bathing, exercise, rest, and shaded areas with umbrellas.
Infrastructure Developments
In addition to the beach, Sheikh Sultan has directed the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting the Al Bardi 6 and Al Batha areas in Khorfakkan. This bridge aims to improve connectivity and ease of movement for residents between these two areas.
Road Improvements
Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of RTA Sharjah, announced that modifications will also be made to the internal roads in the Hayawa area to facilitate better traffic flow.
Construction Timeline
Eng. Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Public Works in Sharjah, emphasised that the beach’s location was selected for its seclusion from public roads, enhancing privacy. The construction is expected to take between eight months and a year, with plans for dedicated parking for women’s vehicles also under consideration.
These developments reflect the Ruler’s commitment to enhancing public amenities and infrastructure, with a focus on creating inclusive and accessible spaces for all residents.
