Royal Enfield’s Classic 350 remains its flagship product, even as the company broadens its portfolio across various segments. Originally launched in 2009, the Classic 350 received a major update in 2021 with a new chassis and engine, enhancing its overall refinement. Now, almost three years later, Royal Enfield has unveiled the updated Classic 350. The new model will have its pricing announced on September 1, 2024, with deliveries set to begin on the same day.

Design and Cosmetic Changes

The 2024 Classic 350 retains the design elements of its predecessor but introduces subtle cosmetic updates. Among these are seven new paint options, including Emerald, Jodhpur Blue, Madras Red, Medallion Brown, Commando Sand, and Stealth Black. The latter features a blacked-out engine and exhaust for a modern touch. Additionally, the new model showcases a refreshed branding logo on the fuel tank, one of the two logos recently trademarked by the brand.

Updated Features

The most notable update for the new Classic 350 is the shift to LED lighting across all variants, which now includes LED headlights, pilot lamps, and tail lamps. Higher variants also benefit from adjustable brake and clutch levers. The analogue-based instrument cluster remains but now features a gear position indicator and a USB charging port. Furthermore, dual-channel ABS is standard on all variants, with the top-end Stealth and Emerald models offering the Tripper navigation pod, while it’s optional for lower variants.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Classic 350 continues to use the 349 cc single-cylinder J-series engine introduced in 2021. This engine delivers 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It is mounted in a dual-cradle frame, supported by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Competition and Market Position

The refreshed Classic 350 will face competition from both established and new entrants in the 350 cc segment, including the Honda CB 350, H’ness 350, Jawa 350, and even its own sibling, the Hunter 350. The updated model is set to intensify its rivalry with these contenders upon its launch.

Pricing Expectations

The current Classic 350 starts at approximately Rs. 1.93 lakh, going up to Rs. 2.24 lakh for the top-spec variant. It is anticipated that the new Classic 350 will be priced slightly higher than its predecessor, reflecting its updated features and enhancements.
