The Ram Mandir Trust has experienced an unprecedented wave of generosity, collecting over ₹5,500 crore in donations in the past ten months. This significant support follows the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) held on August 5, 2020, for the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Ongoing Support from Devotees
Anil Mishra, a senior member of the Trust, highlighted that the Ram Mandir, dedicated to Lord Ram, has become a central point for Hindu devotees around the globe. “Donations continue to come in daily from both domestic and international supporters,” Mishra said.
Fundraising Achievements
Since the groundbreaking ceremony, the Trust has raised a remarkable ₹35 billion through a campaign that made it easy for people to contribute in amounts of ₹10, ₹100, and ₹1,000. These funds were deposited in accounts with the State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, and Punjab National Bank. Even after the initial campaign, donations have continued, with an additional ₹20 billion raised over the last three years. “Daily donations reflect the persistent devotion of the faithful, with over ₹10 million collected each month,” Mishra added. The upcoming Pran Pratishtha (ritual installation of the deity) ceremony has particularly increased donation activity.
International Contributions
The Trust has also seen substantial support from international devotees. Since receiving permission to accept foreign donations in October 2023, the Trust has collected around ₹11 crore from overseas, with significant contributions coming from Nepal and the United States.
Donation Channels and Practices
To facilitate donations, the Trust has set up six counters along the Darshan route where contributions can be made via cash, online transfers, checks, and RTGS. On average, about ₹50,000 in cash is donated daily. In addition to monetary contributions, devotees have also donated gold and silver, which are securely stored in bank lockers.
Construction and Future Outlook
The construction of the Ram Mandir, envisioned as a grand symbol of faith and culture, is progressing steadily, driven by the devotion of millions worldwide. The Trust is committed to managing the substantial influx of funds responsibly, ensuring that every contribution helps realize the vision of this magnificent temple, a spiritual beacon for future generations.
