AR Rahman stands unparalleled as the richest male singer, boasting a net worth of Rs 1,728 crore, according to DNA India and other publicly available data. The 57-year-old musical maestro, renowned for his exceptional compositions, commands a staggering fee of Rs 3 crore per song, making him the highest-paid singer in the country, as reported by CNBC TV18.

Primarily known for his work as a music composer, AR Rahman has also lent his iconic voice to numerous unforgettable tracks. His vocal contributions include classics such as “Urvashi Urvashi” (Kadhalan), “Humma Humma” (Bombay), “Dil Se Re” (Dil Se..), “Ishq Bina” (Taal), “Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera” (Swades), “Roobaroo” (Rang De Basanti), “Tere Bina” (Guru), and “Kun Faya Kun” and “Nadaan Parinde” (Rockstar). Recently, he composed music for the film “Amar Singh Chamkila” and collaborated with Kailash Kher on the song “Bol Mohabbat”.

Rahman’s illustrious career, spanning over three decades and multiple languages, is decorated with numerous accolades, including six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, and two Grammy Awards. In recognition of his contributions to music, he has also been honored with the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian awards.

Among other prominent male musicians in India, Arijit Singh, a leading playback singer in Bollywood, has an estimated net worth of Rs 414 crore, according to DNA India. Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh follows with an impressive net worth of Rs 172 crore. Popular rappers Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah have net worths of Rs 205 crore and Rs 124 crore, respectively. Additionally, celebrated singer Sonu Nigam boasts a reported net worth of Rs 400 crore.
