Zahabiya Khorakiwala, daughter of Wockhardt founder Habil Khorakiwala, now heads Wockhardt Hospitals, driving strategic growth in the pharmaceutical sector.

Stepping into Leadership

Zahabiya Khorakiwala assumed the role of Managing Director at Wockhardt Hospitals in 2010, at the age of 27, after serving as Executive Director. She oversees critical strategic decisions and identifies new avenues for business growth within the healthcare sector.

Educational Background and Professional Journey

Zahabiya’s educational journey spans prestigious institutions globally. She completed her schooling at Aiglon College in Switzerland and pursued her undergraduate studies at New York University in the United States. Her academic pursuit continued with an MBA from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the healthcare industry.

Diversifying Beyond Healthcare

Beyond her role at Wockhardt Hospitals, Zahabiya is also a director on the board of RPG Life Sciences Limited, further extending her influence in the pharmaceutical sector. Her entrepreneurial spirit is also evident in her establishment of Wockhardt Global School in Aurangabad, which offers a comprehensive K-12 education program integrating the International Baccalaureate Continuum and CBSE curriculum.

Continuing the Legacy

Founded in 1967, Wockhardt was established by Habil Khorakiwala after branching out from his family’s retailing empire. Zahabiya’s leadership at Wockhardt Hospitals not only upholds the family legacy but also charts a path for continued growth and innovation in healthcare services across India.
