The Tata Curvv will be equipped with a new 125 hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, available in both manual and automatic transmissions. The diesel variants will utilize the Nexon’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine. For the electric version, Tata will use its Gen 2 acti.ev architecture, which is expected to provide a range of 450-500 km.
Tata Curvv: Exterior and Interior Design
The design of the Tata Curvv is influenced by the Nexon, featuring Tata’s characteristic split-LED headlamp setup and glossy black cladding on the sides. It also includes a split tail-lamp setup and a distinctive coupe-like roofline. The EV and ICE models will be differentiated by unique bumpers and LED light signatures. The Curvv is 313mm longer than the Nexon and has a 62mm longer wheelbase.
Inside the Curvv, you’ll find a four-spoke illuminated steering wheel from the Harrier and Safari models. It includes a 10.25-inch screen for the instrument cluster and digital dials, with the EV version likely offering unique switchgear and additional features similar to those in the Nexon EV. Other notable features include a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, connected car capabilities, and a panoramic sunroof.
Tata Curvv: Expected Price and Rivals
The Curvv EV is expected to be launched first, with prices starting around Rs 20 lakh, positioning it above the Nexon EV and below the upcoming Harrier EV. The ICE version will be released later, with an estimated price range of Rs 10 lakh-11 lakh. The Curvv EV will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX, and MG ZS EV, while the ICE version will rival midsize SUVs like the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Hyundai Creta.
