Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, is set to recruit hundreds of pilots this year to support its ambitious expansion plans. As the airline rapidly grows its fleet and network, it is launching a global recruitment campaign to attract pilots from around the world.
Etihad will begin its recruitment drive with an international roadshow starting in eight European cities: Cyprus, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Lithuania. The roadshow, running from June 29 to July 13, will later expand to additional global locations.
The airline is inviting pilots of all ranks and aircraft types to explore career opportunities with Etihad by attending these roadshows or by registering their interest online at careers.etihad.com.
In a unique approach, Etihad also encourages the partners and family members of prospective pilots to join the roadshows. This initiative aims to showcase Abu Dhabi not just as a place of work, but as a vibrant and welcoming destination for families.
John Wright, Chief Operations and Guest Officer at Etihad Airways, highlighted the dual focus of the recruitment campaign: “As we embark on this pilot recruitment roadshow, we’re proud to showcase everything that both Etihad and Abu Dhabi have to offer. We are seeking pilots who share in our ambitions and appreciate that a pilot’s choice of airline is a long-term decision. We aim to highlight the career development opportunities at Etihad as well as the fantastic lifestyle that Abu Dhabi provides.”
Etihad is looking for pilots experienced with various aircraft, including the Airbus A320, A350, and A380, as well as the Boeing 777 and 787, and Boeing 777 freighters. Even pilots who do not yet meet the criteria but are interested in joining Etihad in the future are encouraged to attend the roadshow or sign up online.
With plans to double its fleet size by 2030 compared to 2022, Etihad offers significant career progression and promotion opportunities for pilots. This expansion makes Etihad a compelling choice for ambitious pilots seeking to advance their careers. The airline’s diverse pilot community, representing 142 nationalities, operates out of Abu Dhabi and flies to over 70 destinations across Australia, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
In line with its network growth, Etihad is launching new flights this June to Bali, Jaipur, and Al Qassim. It is also adding several seasonal destinations, including the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini, Nice on the French Riviera, and the holiday resorts of Malaga in Spain and Antalya in Turkey.
