TRB Rajaa, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, convened a crucial meeting with prominent industrialists and corporate leaders in Coimbatore on Friday to discuss the implementation of developmental projects under the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Coimbatore Next initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between the government and Coimbatore’s business community.

Commitment to ‘Kovai Rising’

Rajaa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfil its promises outlined in the ‘Kovai Rising’ manifesto during this term. He emphasised Chief Minister MK Stalin’s responsiveness to feedback and constructive criticism, ensuring swift actions for the city’s advancement. “Together, we will elevate Coimbatore to new heights, securing its rightful place among thriving regions,” Rajaa affirmed.

Establishing a Joint Consultative Forum

R Nandini, Chairperson of the CII Southern Region, proposed the establishment of a Joint Consultative Forum. This forum aims to foster productive dialogues between the industry and government, leading to measurable outcomes that enhance the startup and industrial ecosystem across the state.

Investment and Growth Initiatives

Highlighting Tamil Nadu’s significant investments in Coimbatore, including a Rs 9 crore initiative for an EV cluster, V Thirugnanam, President of CODISSIA, advocated for an exclusive Global Investors Meet. This meet will focus on scaling up MSMEs through global collaborations, further boosting the region’s economic potential.

Key Attendees and Future Prospects

The event was attended by influential figures including K Senthil Ganesh, Immediate Past Chairman of CII Coimbatore and CEO of Transform Tech (I) Pvt Ltd; V Arjun Prakash, Steering Committee Member of Coimbatore Next; and R Arun, Vice President of SIEMA, among others. Their participation underscores the collective commitment to advancing Coimbatore’s industrial landscape and fostering sustainable growth.

This gathering marks a pivotal step in aligning governmental efforts with industry aspirations, poised to propel Coimbatore towards a prosperous future.
