Eve Air Mobility, a pioneer in Electric Aerial Vehicle (EAV) technology, has unveiled a teaser video showcasing its inaugural full-scale prototype. Stemming from Embraer’s innovation accelerator, Eve focuses on crafting low-noise vehicles with efficient thrust capabilities. Presently, the company is assembling its primary full-scale eVTOL prototype for rigorous testing.
Anticipated to commence operations by 2026, Eve has garnered nearly 3,000 pre-orders for its EAV. CEO Johann Bordais emphasizes the company’s holistic approach to Urban Air Mobility, with a keen eye on ecosystem and infrastructure development. Leveraging Embraer’s expertise, Eve plans to utilize its global service network.
The Eve eVTOL boasts eight vertical flight propellers and fixed wings for cruising, offering a seamless transition between flight modes. Recent collaborations include an order from AirX Inc. for up to 50 EAVs, and a partnership with Honeywell for navigation and lighting systems.
Eve envisions launching eVTOL commuter flights in South Florida by 2026, targeting congestion alleviation and enhanced travel times. The company has also forged partnerships with low-cost carriers like Flynas and Jeju Air to explore eVTOL services in Saudi Arabia and South Korea, respectively.
Furthermore, Eve is actively engaged in regulatory collaborations worldwide, with initiatives spanning the U.S., Brazil, U.K., and India. In a bid for autonomous capabilities, Eve has inked a deal with DHL Supply Chain to study supply chain dynamics for eVTOL operations.
With a backlog of 2,850 EAV orders and ongoing software development for urban air traffic management, Eve Air remains at the forefront of advancing sustainable air mobility solutions globally.
