In India, it’s common for actors to splurge on expensive bikes, but there are a few actresses who also share a passion for two-wheelers. One such example is Indian actress Daisy Bopanna, known for her work in the Tamil and Kannada film industries. Recently, she proudly took delivery of her new Ducati Monster superbike, which she affectionately named “Anandi.”
Daisy shared a video of her new bike on her Instagram page, expressing her excitement with the caption, “Officially my baby now. Named her ‘Anandi’ – my gateway to heaven. Seriously such a pleasurable bike. Crazy speed, absolutely comfortable, just sheer bliss. Can’t question a @ducatiinfinity. Thank you, my fef @i.am.amyth.”
The Ducati Monster brand has a rich history spanning almost 25 years, offering naked sports bikes. Daisy’s model is from the latest generation launched in 2021, featuring a sleeker exterior design with new additions like the headlight design and ring-type LED DRLs. Ducati also upgraded the frame to aluminum, along with an aluminum swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4, and a glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) sub-frame, enhancing strength and reducing weight.
Equipped with 43 mm USD forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear, the Monster boasts lighter 17-inch wheels and impressive braking capabilities with twin 320 mm discs at the front and a 245 mm disc at the rear. Ducati offers advanced features including ABS, cornering ABS, power launch, traction control, wheelie control, ride-by-wire, and three riding modes – Sport, Touring, and Urban.
Underneath its sleek exterior, the Ducati Monster houses a powerful 937-cc, L-twin, liquid-cooled engine, shared with models like the HyperMotard and Ducati SuperSport. This engine churns out 110 Bhp and 93 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quick shifter as standard.
The price range for a brand-new Ducati Monster 937 starts from Rs 12.94 lakh, ex-showroom, going up to Rs 15.95 lakh, ex-showroom. However, it’s unclear which specific variant Daisy opted for in this case.
