Industrialist Anand Mahindra recently commended a courageous teenager named Nikita, who successfully thwarted a monkey attack using Amazon’s Alexa. Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, lauded Nikita’s “extraordinary quick thinking” and expressed admiration for her potential for leadership in an unpredictable world. He even extended a job offer at his company once she completes her studies, emphasizing the role of technology in enabling human ingenuity.
Nikita’s remarkable feat took place in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, where she protected herself and her infant niece from a monkey invasion on April 5. When a monkey entered the room where she was playing with her niece, Nikita, despite feeling frightened, quickly noticed the Amazon Alexa device on top of the refrigerator. With a stroke of ingenuity, she commanded Alexa to emit dog sounds, hoping to scare away the monkey. Miraculously, her plan worked, and both she and her niece remained unharmed.
Nikita’s mother, Shipra Ojha, praised her daughter’s resourcefulness, acknowledging that her quick thinking and effective use of Alexa prevented a potential tragedy. “Both their lives were saved by such good use of the Alexa device,” Shipra stated, highlighting Nikita’s wisdom in utilizing technology to avert danger.
This incident serves as a testament to the power of technology in safeguarding lives and underscores the importance of quick thinking in the face of unexpected challenges. Nikita’s story exemplifies the potential for innovation and leadership, offering hope and inspiration in an ever-changing world.
