Vande Bharat Express train gears up to accommodate the surge in travelers during the summer season. In response, special Vande Bharat services have been announced, specifically catering to the Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil sector on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout April. Departing from Chennai Egmore at 5:15 am, train number 06057 will whisk passengers to Nagercoil by 2:10 pm. The return journey, train number 06058, will commence from Nagercoil at 2:50 pm, arriving at Chennai Egmore by 11:45 pm.
These special Vande Bharat trains are scheduled to operate on April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28, providing ample opportunities for travel. Notably, these trains will make several stoppages en route, including Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Tirunelveli. While initially slated for April, the extension of these services may be considered based on passenger demand and requirements.
In other developments, progress on the country’s first bullet train project between Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Sabarmati is rapidly advancing. Consequently, a temporary closure of the railway line between Ahmedabad and Sabarmati is necessary. As a result, train number 19309/19310 Gandhinagar Capital-Indore Shanti Express will experience partial cancellation between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. Additionally, train number 09276/09275 Gandhinagar Capital-Anand MEMU special train will be completely canceled.
These adjustments signify the dynamic nature of railway operations, aimed at providing efficient and convenient services to passengers while accommodating infrastructural developments across the network.
