In a glitzy affair at Concourse A of Dubai International Airport, two lucky individuals, one Emirati and one Indian national, emerged as the latest millionaires in the renowned Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw.
Emirati Triumph
Mohammed Al Shehi, hailing from the UAE, clinched a staggering $1 million prize in the Millennium Millionaire Series 454. Al Shehi, purchasing his winning ticket (number 2637) online on March 10, joins the esteemed league of Emirati nationals who’ve bagged the million-dollar fortune through this promotion. His win marks the 14th Emirati to achieve this milestone since the inception of the program in 1999.
Indian Sensation
Sharing the spotlight is Mohammad Jamal Ilmi, an Indian national domiciled in Dubai, who struck gold with a $1 million win in the Millennium Millionaire Series 453. Ilmi’s winning ticket (number 0121), bought on February 27 en route to Madrid, Spain, adds him to the impressive roster of 226 Indian nationals who’ve clinched the million-dollar prize. Indians notably constitute the largest group of ticket purchasers in this promotion.
Both winners, currently unreachable, are anticipated to be taken aback by the news of their newfound wealth.
Honouring Previous Winners
The event also featured a presentation to the previous Millennium Millionaire Series 452 victor, Sunil Nayyar, a 60-year-old Indian national residing in Abu Dhabi for nearly four decades. Nayyar’s $1 million triumph, secured with ticket number 0971 purchased online on February 21, rewards his long standing participation in Dubai Duty Free’s promotions spanning 15 years.
Draw and Delight
The draw, overseen by Dubai Duty Free officials, including Joint COO Salah Tahlak and SVP of Marketing Sinead El Sibai, extended beyond million-dollar fortunes. Nadeem Hassoun, a Belarusian national based in Dubai, clinched a BMW 740i M Sport in the Finest Surprise Series 1871. Similarly, Ayoob Ali Ahmad Albastaki, an Emirati engineer, celebrated his win of a Mercedes Benz S500.
Diverse Victors
The winners’ circle expanded to include Sharafudheen Madambillath, an Indian national, and Cecille Anne Holmans, a Filipino resident in Dubai, both securing luxury motorbikes. Madambillath snagged a BMW R18 Octane, while Holmans celebrated her beginner’s luck with a BMW S 1000 RR.
Dubai Duty Free continues to be the beacon of fortune for global travellers, making dreams materialise one draw at a time.
