Lexus, the renowned luxury car manufacturer, has officially announced the commencement of deliveries for its highly anticipated fifth-generation RX 500h F Sport Performance in India. Unveiled for the first time at the Auto Expo 2023, this five-seater luxury SUV garnered significant interest and bookings immediately following its unveiling in January last year.
One of the key highlights of the new Lexus RX 500h is the offering of an 8-year warranty on the HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) battery, underlining the brand’s commitment to quality and reliability. Prices for the Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance start at Rs 1.18 crore (ex-showroom), positioning it between the NX and the LX in the Lexus India lineup. The hybrid crossover is available in two variants in India: RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport Performance, with the former priced at Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Under the hood, the fifth-gen Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance is powered by a robust 2.4-litre inline-four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a high-power electric motor at the rear axle. This hybrid powertrain delivers a combined peak output of 366 bhp and 460 Nm of torque, ensuring a thrilling driving experience. Power is distributed to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Lexus RX 500h boasts impressive performance figures, with a top speed of 210 kmph and a 0-100 kmph sprint time of 6.2 seconds. The dynamic rear-wheel steering system enhances manoeuvrability and stability by adjusting the rear wheels up to four degrees in alignment with the front wheels.
Stepping inside the Lexus RX 500h, occupants are greeted by the company’s signature Tazuna cockpit, inspired by the concept of controlling a horse with reins. The luxurious interiors offer three colour options – Black, Dark Sepia, and Solid White – along with two interior trims: Sumi Woodgrain and Medium Bamboo Brown.
In terms of features, the Lexus RX 500h is equipped with a host of premium amenities, including a panoramic glass roof, a 14-inch touchscreen display, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone climate control, and a multi-functional steering wheel. Safety is paramount, with a comprehensive package that includes seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, lane departure assist, collision warning, and lane tracing assist.
