In preparation for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uber has launched electric auto-rickshaw services to facilitate convenient and affordable transportation for both locals and tourists. Accessible through the Uber mobile app, this service is optimized for a swift booking experience to accommodate the anticipated high demand.
Uber’s upcoming plans include the introduction of UberGo and Uber Intercity services in and around Ayodhya, with the intercity service extending to all cities in Uttar Pradesh. Expressing enthusiasm about this expansion, Uber India President Prabhjeet Singh highlighted the potential to enhance mobility options and create new earning opportunities in the region.
The primary objective of these services is to promote tourism in Ayodhya by offering accessible, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly transportation choices. As preparations for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony progress, expected to take place on January 22, where Lord Ram will be enthroned in the newly-constructed Ram Mandir, a surge in tourist arrivals is anticipated.
The ceremony, set to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will be accompanied by a special 11-day ritual, as announced by PM Modi. Simultaneously, the Uttar Pradesh government is erecting India’s largest floating screen at Ayodhya’s Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghat. This screen will be installed at Aarti Ghat to broadcast the ceremony and various programs depicting Ayodhya’s historical significance.
