The electric scooter market is experiencing a remarkable surge, with October 2023 marking a milestone as 71,604 electric vehicles were sold. A pivotal factor in this surge is the entry of new players, eager to tap into the vast and untapped market. In this article, we delve into the top-performing electric scooters of October 2023, as reported by Vahan, shedding light on their sales figures and month-on-month growth.

Ola: Leading the Charge

Ola emerges as the leader in electric scooter sales for October 2023, selling an impressive 22,284 units. Despite its share of challenges, Ola’s sales saw a commendable growth of 19.2 percent from September, where 18,691 units were sold.

TVS: Steady Growth with iQube

TVS, a well-established motorcycle manufacturer, secures the second spot with its iQube electric scooter. October 2023 witnessed the sale of 15,603 units, indicating a marginal month-on-month growth of 0.1 percent from the 15,584 units sold in September.

Bajaj: Chetak’s Electric Triumph

Bajaj claims the third position with its sole electric offering, the Chetak. The manufacturer sold 8,430 units in October, marking a robust month-on-month growth of 18.7 percent compared to the 7,097 units sold in September.

Ather: A Rising Star

Ather, a prominent player in the electric vehicle startup scene, secures the fourth spot by selling 8,027 units in October. The Bangalore-based startup displays a notable month-on-month growth of 12.2 percent, surpassing the 7,151 units sold in September.

Greaves: Closing the Top 5

Completing the top 5 list is Greaves Electric, with 4,019 units sold in October. This marks an 11.2 percent month-on-month growth from the 3,612 units sold in September, solidifying Greaves Electric’s position in the competitive electric scooter market.

October 2023 has proven to be a dynamic month for the electric scooter market, with key players demonstrating substantial growth. As new entrants explore this burgeoning industry, the competition is set to intensify, promising an exciting future for electric mobility in India.
