The Karnataka government is preparing to build a huge tower that is expected to transform the identity of Bengaluru city. This project called ‘Bengaluru Skydeck Project’ was announced through social media platform X by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar who is also Bengaluru Development Minister. COOP HIMMELB(L)AU, an Austrian company, has completed the design work of the Skydeck. The design was done in collaboration with the World Design Organization, Bengaluru.
Tall architectures known as skydecks or observation decks are attracting tourism attention across the country. This skydeck is also said to become a big business and tourism center. This observatory can attract not only city residents but also people from other states of the country and abroad.
Earlier this August, the state government had decided to construct a 30 km long tunnel road in Bengaluru and 50,000 crores of this project.
Minister DK Sivakumar has asked the Urban Development Department to find around 10 acres of land in the heart of the city to set up the Skydeck.
The government had also appointed a committee to suggest what should be done to keep Bengaluru competitive with the times. The government is implementing projects based on the ideas put forward by them in the ‘Vibrant Bengaluru Report’.
DK Sivakumar describes in his X post what the shape of the Skydeck tower will be.
This tower will be 250 meters high. Architecturally, this tower design will be in the pattern of banyan trees. At the top there will be a skydeck or observatory. The city can be viewed from this glassy spot.
This 250 meter high building will be divided into three parts namely base, trunk and blossom. Theaters, sky garden, shopping centers, restaurants, bars and entertainment systems will also be set up in this center.
