Dubai Police will soon launch a smart floating police station off World Islands, it was revealed at the Gitex tech show in Dubai. Lieutenant Rashid Mohammed Al Hall, administrative officer at Dubai Police, said the floating station will provide services without human intervention. More details about the project will be announced soon.
The initiative was first launched in 2019 Gitex technology week. The launch event was then inaugurated by Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, along with the presence of Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, commander in chief of Dubai police and other senior officers.
As per media reports, the floating police station will be like other smart police stations in Dubai. All services will be online, including traffic, criminal and community services, and issuing of certificates and permits.
Moreover, UAE residents can use their Emirates ID card to complete transactions, while visitors from abroad can use their passport to conduct transactions. There are special places to place the ID or passport, in addition to making any payments.
As per earlier reports, the project will be in cooperation with Kleindienst Group, who developed ‘Heart of Europe’ in Dubai.
“Our partnership with Dubai Police is based on innovation and creative engineering,” said Josef Kleindienst, founder and chairman of the Kleindienst Group. “We were the first company in the world to develop a classic and unique idea of living on floating villas above and under the water. We are pleased with our cooperation with the police to build the first floating SPS,” he added.
