Tata Nexon Facelift: A Refreshing Upgrade to India’s Compact SUV Segment

Tata Motors has unveiled the eagerly anticipated Tata Nexon facelift in India, ushering in a new era of style and performance in the compact SUV segment. With an enticing introductory price of ₹8.09 lakh, the Nexon facelift is now available in 11 variants and an array of six vibrant colors. This article provides an in-depth look at the features, design, and powertrain options of the Tata Nexon facelift, shedding light on its potential impact in the market.

A Fresh Exterior Makeover

The Tata Nexon facelift marks a significant departure from its predecessor in terms of exterior design. The revamped SUV boasts a refreshed grille, bumper, and a distinctive split headlamp setup. Notably, the inclusion of L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) adds a touch of modernity. Additionally, the facelifted Nexon showcases stylish roof rails and a sleek blacked-out B-pillar, enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal. At the rear, the Nexon flaunts a revamped bumper, Y-shaped LED tail lights, and vertically stacked housings with reverse lights and reflectors. To top it off, an LED light bar further elevates its visual appeal.

Reimagined Interior

Stepping inside the Nexon facelift reveals a thoroughly updated and feature-rich interior. The highlight of this transformation is an enhanced digital instrument cluster that provides drivers with critical information at a glance. The Nexon now boasts a spacious 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers seamless connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sunroof enthusiasts will be delighted to find an electric sunroof adding a sense of spaciousness to the cabin. Tata has also introduced a new AP panel, a two-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned gear lever, and a rotary dial for selecting different driving modes. The inclusion of a self-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM) further enhances the Nexon’s modern and user-friendly interior.

Power Under the Hood

Under the hood, the Tata Nexon facelift packs a punch with its powertrain options. The heart of the lineup is a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine capable of producing an impressive 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a choice of five-speed manual, speed manual, automatic manual transmission (AMT), and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

For diesel enthusiasts, Tata offers a robust 1.5-liter engine that churns out 113bhp and a substantial 260 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a manual gearbox or an AMT, providing buyers with flexibility and choice.

Competing in a Crowded Arena

The Tata Nexon facelift enters a fiercely competitive compact SUV segment in India. It will go head-to-head with popular rivals such as the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, and the Mahindra Bolero Neo. With its impressive features, striking design, and well-rounded powertrain options, the Nexon facelift aims to carve a niche for itself in this competitive landscape.

The launch of the Tata Nexon facelift signals Tata Motors’ commitment to staying at the forefront of India’s compact SUV market. Its refreshed exterior design, feature-rich interior, and versatile powertrain options make it a compelling choice for SUV enthusiasts. With an attractive starting price, Tata has positioned the Nexon facelift to capture the attention of budget-conscious buyers, while its premium features and modern design may entice those seeking a more upscale compact SUV. As the competition intensifies in this segment, the Nexon facelift promises to be a strong contender and a noteworthy addition to India’s burgeoning compact SUV market.
