According to the recently unveiled APAC Travel Confidence Index 2023 by Booking.com, a substantial majority of Indian travelers prefer structured itineraries. These travelers actively pre-plan their visits to various attractions and even meticulously book eateries in advance. Additionally, a remarkable 85 percent of Indian explorers exhibit a proclivity for sustainable accommodations, underlining a growing environmental consciousness. In this report, the spotlight shines on intriguing preferences that shape India’s travel landscape.

Culinary Comfort and Sustainable Accommodation: Key Aspects

Delving into the details of Indian travelers’ preferences, an intriguing pattern emerges. Around 60 percent of respondents deem access to Indian cuisine while journeying to be paramount. This emphasis on retaining familiar flavors reflects the integral role food plays in a traveler’s experience. Moreover, the commitment to sustainability resonates strongly, with a significant 85 percent of Indian travelers leaning towards eco-friendly lodging options.

Digital Trust and Weekend Getaways: Insights Unveiled

The APAC Travel Confidence Index 2023 unfolds further insights into the digital age’s influence on travel choices. A substantial 42 percent of Indian travelers exhibit trust in digital travel platforms, indicating the significant role technology now plays in shaping travel decisions. Meanwhile, India’s affection for long weekends is apparent, with a notable 3 out of 5 respondents preferring to embark on journeys during extended weekends.

A Glimpse into Survey Methodology

The report’s findings are a culmination of insights gleaned from a comprehensive survey conducted across 11 Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries. A diverse sample of approximately 8,000 individuals, representing nations such as India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, participated in this expansive study.
