Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Dubai have secured spots among the top five safest cities globally, affirming the United Arab Emirates’ reputation as a secure and stable destination for living and working.
The ranking, based on data released by Numbeo, a leading global provider of economic, social, and safety data, highlights the country’s commitment to maintaining high levels of security.
I. UAE Cities Take the Lead:
In the first half of 2023, Numbeo’s data positioned Abu Dhabi as the world’s safest city, with Ajman following closely in second place and Dubai securing the fifth spot. Abu Dhabi has consistently topped the chart since 2022, solidifying its reputation for safety and security.
II. Other Noteworthy Rankings:
Among the top-ranked cities, Doha and Taipei claimed the third and fourth positions, respectively. Muscat, ranked eighth, was the only other city from the region featured in the top 10.
III. Resident Satisfaction:
A recent survey conducted by the Department of Community Development (DCD) revealed that over 93% of Abu Dhabi residents feel safe when walking alone at night, further reinforcing the city’s dedication to ensuring the well-being and peace of its residents.

Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, attributed the high rankings to the significant importance placed on security and safety by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and the support of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council of Ajman. Their commitment has led to the implementation of various projects and security initiatives aimed at reducing crime, enhancing road safety, emergency response, and providing high-quality services.
V. Attracting Foreign Investment:
The prominent position of these UAE cities in terms of safety also highlights the country’s ability to attract substantial foreign investment, with investors being drawn to the secure environment it offers.
