BYD Diversifies Beyond Mass-Market EVs
Chinese automaker BYD is making significant strides in the electric vehicle industry by extending its focus beyond conventional mass-market vehicles. The company recently introduced its new sub-brand ‘Fang Cheng Bao,’ meaning ‘Formula’ and ‘Leopard’ in Chinese, symbolising its commitment to transformative growth and digital exploration.
A New Addition to BYD’s Sub-Brand Family
‘Fang Cheng Bao’ becomes the fifth sub-brand to join BYD’s existing lineup, which includes Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, and Yang Wang. This latest addition is specifically designed to offer a range of distinctive and high-performance new energy vehicle models, catering to the evolving needs of discerning consumers.

Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, emphasises that the global transition to e-mobility represents more than just the replacement of fossil fuel-powered cars with electric ones.
