The 71st edition of Miss World is scheduled to take place in November of this year, although the final dates are yet to be determined. Contestants from more than 130 countries are expected to gather in India for this month-long event, competing for the coveted title. It is a momentous occasion for the country, as India last hosted the Miss World pageant in 1996.
The year 1996 marked a significant milestone for India as Rita Faria clinched the Miss World title, bringing immense pride to the nation. Since then, India has continued its success in the pageant, securing the Miss World crown a total of six times. Aishwarya Rai captured the title in 1994, followed by Diana Hayden in 1997, Yukta Mukhi in 1999, Priyanka Chopra in 2000, and Manushi Chillar in 2017. These remarkable achievements have cemented India’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the world of beauty and grace.
In anticipation of the upcoming pageant, Miss World 2022, Karolina Białawska from Poland, is currently in India to promote the event. Expressing her admiration for the country, Białawska stated, “India is the most hospitable country in the world. I am here for the second time. It makes me feel like home. Your main values are family, respect, love, and kindness, and this is what we want to show the world.”
The announcement of India as the host country for the 71st Miss World Final has been met with great enthusiasm.
