Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a convenient solution for residents who often worry about leaving their driving licences behind. The RTA recently reminded residents that they can now add their driving licences to their Apple wallets, making it easily accessible whenever needed.
In the past, many motorists in the city resorted to keeping a photo of their driving licences on their smartphones or storing digital copies in their files as a backup. However, with the integration of digital licences into iPhone wallets, accessing the licence has become much simpler. By double-clicking the side button of their iPhones, users can easily open the e-wallet, where the driving licence will appear alongside other cards.
Adding the driving licence to the Apple wallet is a straightforward process. Users need to download and open the RTA app, set up their account, and link their traffic files (driving licence or vehicle licence) within the app. On the app’s home page, they can navigate to the “My Docs” section and open the “My License” tab. Here, they will find a digital version of their driving licence. By clicking the “Add to Apple Wallet” button below the card, the licence will be automatically added to their e-wallet.
It is worth noting that the same process can be followed for adding the vehicle licence to the Apple wallet as well. However, currently, this feature is only available for Apple users.
With the introduction of digital driving licences on Apple wallets, residents of Dubai can now bid farewell to the anxiety of forgetting their physical licences. This convenient solution ensures that their licences are securely stored and easily accessible through their iPhones, offering peace of mind and a hassle-free driving experience.
