OpenAI, the leading Artificial Intelligence company, has expanded the availability of its ChatGPT iOS app to several countries beyond the United States. Previously, the app was exclusively launched in the US market, but now users in 11 additional countries can download it from the Apple App Store. The countries included in this expansion are Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Jamaica, Korea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, and the UK.
Unfortunately, the arrival of ChatGPT on iOS in India is still pending, but OpenAI has assured that they will continue to roll out to more countries and regions in the coming weeks, indicating that India might be included in future expansions.
In addition to the expanded availability, OpenAI has introduced a new feature called shared links. This feature enables users to create and share their ChatGPT conversations with others. Recipients of these shared links have the option to view the conversation or copy it to their own chats for further discussion. Currently, this feature is being tested by a small group of alpha testers and will be gradually expanded to all users, including free users, in the upcoming weeks.
OpenAI has also made improvements to the app’s functionality. Users can now click into the queries that the model is performing, allowing for a more interactive experience. The company has expressed its plans to further integrate and enhance this feature in the near future.
Furthermore, ChatGPT users on iOS have the ability to disable chat history. When chat history is disabled, conversations initiated on the device will not be used to improve OpenAI’s models, they won’t appear in the user’s history on other devices, and they will only be stored for a limited period of 30 days, ensuring privacy and data control.
With these updates and expansions, OpenAI aims to make ChatGPT more accessible and user-friendly, reaching a wider global audience while continuously improving the app’s features and capabilities.
