Tata Motors, unveiled the CNG variant of its premium hatchback Altroz, catering to the growing demand for alternative fuel options among customers. The Altroz iCNG offers a range of advanced features and comes at an attractive introductory price starting from Rs 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom all-India), with six variants available.
Equipped with twin-cylinder CNG technology, the Altroz iCNG stands out with its impressive offerings. The vehicle boasts voice-assisted electric sunroof, wireless charger, air purifier, and other advanced features, ensuring a comfortable and convenient driving experience.
Innovatively designed, the twin CNG cylinders are positioned below the luggage area, with valves and pipes safely protected under the load floor. This strategic arrangement minimises the risk of potential damage and ensures the safety of passengers and the vehicle.
Shailesh Chandra, the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, expressed that customers are increasingly inclined towards economical and eco-friendly driving options. CNG, with its wide availability and accessibility, has gained significant acceptance among consumers. However, opting for CNG often meant compromising on desirable features and sacrificing boot space. Tata Motors addressed these concerns by introducing the advanced iCNG technology in models like Tiago and Tigor in January last year.
Chandra further added, “With the breakthrough of the twin-cylinder CNG technology and advanced features, we are expecting more personal segment buyers to strongly consider this option. Our multi-powertrain strategy in the Altroz portfolio today offers petrol, diesel, i-turbo, and iCNG, providing an array of options for customers to choose from.”
The introduction of Altroz iCNG is set to strengthen Tata Motors’ ‘New Forever’ range and sustain the growth momentum in the passenger car segment. Safety remains a top priority, as the vehicle is equipped with enhanced features such as a micro-switch to switch off the car during refuelling and thermal incident protection, which cuts off CNG supply to the engine in case of emergencies.
The Altroz iCNG also boasts of premium elements like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, and an 8-speaker touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, making it a compelling choice for customers seeking both style and performance.
Tata Motors continues to prioritise customer needs by expanding its product offerings and delivering vehicles that are aligned with evolving market trends. With the introduction of Altroz iCNG, Tata Motors reiterates its commitment to providing sustainable and innovative mobility solutions, ensuring a greener future for the automotive industry.
