Dubai Municipality and DCAA Partner for Dubai Horizons Drone Project.
A memorandum of understanding between the Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has been signed to work together on the Dubai Horizons project, which aims to plan drone flight routes and landing sites in the Emirate.
The parties “will leverage each other’s expertise in the creation of geospatial data for the emirate as well as their collective knowledge in the unmanned aerial vehicle sector” through the Memorandum of Understanding. The Dubai Horizons project aims to streamline the development of a plan and infrastructure for new drone technologies as part of this. The Dubai Horizons project aims to align Dubai’s air dome system and unmanned aircraft traffic management with the emirate’s comprehensive urban plan by establishing the cooperative networks necessary to provide the ideal environment for the deployment and growth of new drone technologies.
Dubai’s global competitiveness will increase and its ambitious goals will be realized as a result of the project, which also supports Dubai’s future air mobility plans,” he added. Dubai Municipality Director-General Dawoud Al Hajri made the following comment: The new agreement will help the aviation industry grow by making site planning for airports and airfields that are meant for drones easier. Dubai’s position as an aviation innovation hub will be bolstered by our partnership with the DCAA, which will also foster a favourable investment environment.
The undertaking, which will run for a considerable length of time from the drive’s day for kick-off, will be carried out in Dubai Silicon Desert spring as a preliminary attempt. The designated organization for putting the Dubai Horizons project into action has been selected to be Dubai Silicon Oasis.
Dubai Municipality will provide the DCAA with a direct link to an online portal in Dubai Silicon Oasis that contains databases, digital data of a geospatial nature, and 3D charts. The Dubai Municipality will also provide the servers and geospatial databases that are required to store this data and publish it on the appropriate systems.
