Kerala Startup Mission: World’s No. 1 Incubator for Entrepreneurship

Kerala sets yet another benchmark! Kerala Start-up Mission was named as the World’s No. 1 Public-Private Incubator by UBI Global. Dr. Rathan U Kelkar IAS and Shri Anoop Ambika received the award at the World Incubation Summit 2023 held in Ghent, Belgium. The award recognizes Kerala’s exemplary accomplishments, the tireless efforts of the State Government, initiating exceptional policies, schemes, support to recognize barriers and support each and everyone’s entrepreneurial aspiration and the dedication of everyone in the ecosystem from Startups, Investors, Ecosystem enablers and Builders.

At the World Incubation Summit 2023 held in Ghent, Belgium, Dr. Ratan U Kelkar IAS and Kerala Startup Mission CEO Anoop Ambika received the World’s Best Public Business Incubator Award, organized by UBI Global. The award was given in consideration of the exemplary achievements of Kerala.

Kerala Startup Mission credits the State Government’s tireless efforts, policies, plans, support to identify barriers, entrepreneurial ambitions and ecosystem support from Startups, Investors, etc. behind this ranking.

Kerala’s Startup Mission achieved this feat in the World Benchmark Study published by Swedish research firm UBI Global, which evaluates the activities of business incubators and accelerators around the world. Kerala Startup Mission has achieved this feat by competing with 1895 organizations from around the world.

950 start-ups were launched in the State under the supervision of Startup Mission in two years. And Kerala Startup Mission managed to find more than 63 incubations and more than one million sq.ft of office space for Start-ups. Keeping this in mind, the Kerala Startup Mission received the Global Award.

This is also a recognition of the work done by the Kerala Government by building the largest Start-up hub in South Asia and setting up incubation centres in universities. Last year, Kerala ranked first in Asia and fourth in the world in the Affordable Talent Ranking of the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER). It won the central government’s award for the best performance in the start-up sector for the third time in a row.
