Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that he had a productive meeting with Walmart CEO Doug McMillon in the national capital. They talked about a variety of interesting topics.

In addition, PM Modi stated that he was pleased to see “India emerge as an attractive investment destination.” “Taking to Twitter, PM Modi expressed, “The gathering with Mr. Doug McMillon, President of @Walmart, was a productive one. We had quick conversations on various subjects. Glad to see India emerge as an appealing investment destination.” McMillon had previously contacted PM Modi on May 11th.

“Thank you, Prime Minister @narendramodi, for the wonderful conversation. Walmart Inc. quoted McMillon as saying, “The visit with Prime Minister @narendramodi reinforces the shared value we bring working alongside India.” “We are committed to strengthening logistics, skill development, and supply chains to make India a global export leader in toys, seafood, and other goods,” the tweet continued. “We are working toward exporting USD 10 billion per year from India by 2027.” We will continue to work together to create opportunities and support manufacturing expansion in the nation.”

It should be noted that Walmart’s top executives had also met with grantees, suppliers, merchants, artisans, and MSMEs last week in India. Walmart said, “We have a long history in India and we’re continuing to grow an ecosystem that creates opportunity,” in reference to the interaction. “We anticipate proceeding to cooperate with our accomplices to make quality, reasonable, economical items for our clients and individuals, assist organizations with developing, make occupations, reinforce versatile networks, and speed up India’s advancement as an assembling objective. During his visit to India, McMillon stated, “This ties in with our goal to expand our exports of “Made in India” products from India to $10 billion annually by 2027.”
