The opening of a six-screen multiplex in New Delhi has been announced by the recently combined exhibiting company PVR Inox. The third of its kind in the city, the new multiplex at Vishal Enclave in Rajouri Garden offers two premium formats, IMAX and MX 4D.
With the addition of the new theatre, there are now 25 PVR Inox theatres with 97 screens in New Delhi. With this opening, PVR Inox adds another 102 properties and 449 screens to its foothold in north India.
“We have introduced the third IMAX and MX 4D formats for Delhites in an effort to make going to the movies as an out-of-home entertainment more immersive. We’re dedicated to bringing the multiplex experience to every region of the nation and to underserved pockets in each city to give easy access to audiences for a world class movie going experience,”
Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, executive director, PVR Inox Ltd said in a statement

Since the merger, PVR Inox has added 58 screens across nine locations in nine cities. The boards of PVR Ltd and Inox Leisure Ltd approved a merger of the two businesses in March of last year on an all-stock basis, creating India’s largest cinema exhibition entity with a network of more than 1,500 screens. While newly opened multiplex screens will be branded as PVR Inox, existing multiplex screens will keep their current brands. PVR Inox Ltd will be the new company’s name.
Due to the pandemic’s devastating effects on the movie theater industry, the combined post-merger revenue of the two businesses was less than $1,000 crore, the threshold below which businesses do not need the antitrust regulator’s permission to consolidate.
