Not Qualcomm, but Poco has announced the launch of the Poco F5 in India. Although we do not yet have a firm launch date for the Poco F5, the chip-maker has used Twitter to promote its approaching release. The announcement includes information about the chipset that will power the device.
The Snapdragon 7 plus Gen 2 chipset will power the Poco F5, according to Qualcomm. In fact, the F5 is advertised as the country’s first smartphone to use the aforementioned processor. More information is awaited. According to rumours, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which was recently released in China, would be rebranded as the Poco F5.
The Snapdragon 7 plus Gen 2 also powers the Note 12 Turbo. We may anticipate the Poco F5 to have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate if it ends up being the Redmi Note 12 Turbo with a few minor changes here and there. Other features of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo include dual speakers, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, 64MP main, 8MP ultra wide, and another 2MP macro sensor on the rear, 5,000mAh battery with 67W rapid charging, and Android 13 under MIUI 14.
For context, the 6.67-inch 120Hz E4 Super AMOLED display on the Poco F4 supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and has a maximum brightness of 1300 nits. The Poco F4’s internal components include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. A 4,500mAh battery powers the phone and features built-in 67W rapid charging.
