YouTube introduces an animated loading screen and upgraded features for Premium members.
YouTube, which is owned by Google, has begun to implement the animation loading screen on mobile, which was originally seen on Android TV in late 2022. According to 9to5Google, Google explained that the new animation is part of an identity makeover aimed at establishing a visually appealing and instantly recognized brand image. The animation was reported to be inspired by vintage CRT TVs (a type of television that utilized cathode ray tubes prior to the development of the flat-screen TV). A new loading bar icon with the recognizable YouTube play-head and a red progress bar is included in the procedure. According to the source, this new loading screen, like the Android TV version, would surface only if users have not used the YouTube application in a long time or have just updated.
Meanwhile, YouTube Premium customers now get access to higher-quality video on the web and iOS, as well as support for co-watching videos on FaceTime via Apple’s SharePlay and other tools for managing their queue on mobile devices. To deliver an even greater video quality experience to its Premium users, the firm has developed an improved bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality on iOS (with an experiment coming soon to the Web).
