Chinese carmaker MG expands its Electric Vehicle line-up in India with the launch of its latest electric car, the Comet
Comet, the newest electric vehicle from Chinese automaker MG, has been introduced in India. Later this month, when the auto company also announces the price, the vehicle is most likely to be introduced to the Indian Market.
After the ZS EV, it will be MG’s second electric vehicle in India. A revised version of the Wuling Air EV is the Comet. Wuling is a sister company to MG. The MG Comet EV is a boxy-looking compact automobile. The vehicle has two doors and can hold up to four people in its seating arrangement. The 10.25-inch Infotainment system and similarly large gauge panel are standard on the Comet EV. Two-spoke steering wheels with controls located on either side are available from the manufacturer.
With a 17.3 kWh battery pack, the MG Comet EV should be able to go 230 km on a single full charge. It is anticipated to have a single permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing a maximum of 42 PS and a maximum torque of 110 Nm.
Although MG has not yet disclosed its price, the Comet EV is anticipated to start at roughly Rs.10 lakh and increase to Rs.15 lakh (both costs, ex-showroom). The MG Comet EV will have competition at this pricing point.
