Bhive has expanded its portfolio by opening a 2 lakh square feet Co-working facility in Whitefield, Bengaluru’s IT region. The new co-working complex will feature over 5,000 seats, as well as a rooftop café and sunset boulevard on the way. According to BHIVE, one of the city’s leading Co-working operators, 20% of the seats have already been filled up by start-ups soon after the pre-launch, demonstrating the rising appeal of the campus model as an exciting workplace for everyone.
“We have always been at the forefront of introducing new experiences to our occupiers and their employees in order to improve their office experience.” “Through our campus model, we have led the industry in providing a wide range of amenities, including retail and sports, in addition to the usual offerings of a flexible workspace facility,” stated Shesh Paplikar, Co-founder and CEO of BHIVE Workspace.
BHIVE’s third campus facility follows the introduction of the world’s largest co-working space for start-ups in the city, which spans 3 lakh square feet. BHIVE Workspace now boasts 1.4 million square feet and over 40,000 seats spread over 21 Bengaluru sites. Its tenants include top start-ups in fitness, finance, and other industries. As the use of shared workplaces expands across the country, accounting for around 20% of total commercial space taken up in 2022, novel concepts, such as the campus model, are developing to introduce innovations into this sector.
The emergence of the hybrid working paradigm post-pandemic, along with an expansion in the start-up culture, has increased demand for co-working across the country. According to industry projections, India’s flexible space stock would exceed 80 million square feet by 2025. As prospects become more plentiful, the segment will become more profitable for expansion.
