There is hardly anyone who has not experienced the difficulty of finding a paying guest facility or hostel at least once in their life, be it during study or work. FindMyHostel provides a solution to such queries.
Technology/Platform
FindMyHostel.in started as a listing application. The startup provides web and mobile applications and hostel/PG listing and their property management applications.
The staff personally go to each property and collect its details and enter all the correct information on the platform. Therefore, those looking for a hostel or paying guest facility can quickly decide which one to choose. The FindMyHostel platform also helps accommodation owners to speed up the process and delay in sharing information. The startup has also developed property management solutions applications for owners and accommodation seekers. The listing application FindMyHostel, owners application and tenants application are accessible through web and mobile.
The startup team
A team of ten people work behind the FindMyHostel platform. Shiyas VP, the CEO and Hansal Salim, CTO and Jithin Babu ,COO are the cofounders. Bodhwi Technologies Pvt Ltd is the registered company.
Clients
Clients are mainly hostel owners, PG operators, students/employees and those looking for budget friendly accommodation. Moreover, it is currently collaborating with many educational institutes for its students. Likewise, tie ups are being made with various hostel owners associations in the corporate sector. It provides various solutions for their needs. Apart from all this, the application is meant to be a marketplace for service vendors. Those service vendors include mess service, plumber, electrician, cleaning service, laundry and many more. The service is intended to be beneficial to owners and residents alike. A hostel without cab service can provide cab service to its inmates at a small fee. Similarly, other facilities including mess can be provided.
During this period more than 5000 users are using FindMyHostel platform. Around 550 hostels in 7 cities i.e. around 25000 beds are listed on the platform.
Funding
A Productization grant of Rs. 7 lakhs has been received from the Government of Kerala. It is seen as a great achievement. Other than that FindMyHostel is currently bootstrapped.
Future plans
More features are intended for service vendors and hostel owners. The aim is to help a student complete everything from arriving at the hostel to checking out, be it a service request or rent payment, with a click or two.
