Prime Minister Narendra Modi today started off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express at Chennai’s MGR Chennai Central Railway Station in Tamil Nadu. When the Prime Minister arrived at the location, he inspected the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express and chatted with youngsters as well as the train’s crew. This is the second Vande Bharat Express train to depart from Chennai, following the Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express. Except for Wednesdays, Southern Railway intends to run the high-speed Vande Bharat express train between the two cities every day. The train will travel at a speed of 130 kmph, reaching the destination on both sides in roughly 5.50 hours, saving 1.20 hours compared to other fast trains, according to Southern Railway.
The cost of the Vande Bharat Express (Train No- 20643) between Chennai and Coimbatore will be Rs.1365, which includes Rs.308 as optional catering charges, and Rs.2485 in the Executive Class between both stations, which also includes Rs.369 as catering charges. Meanwhile, the ticket for Train No. 20644 Vande Bharat Express will be Rs.1215 in Chair Car with Rs.157 as catering costs and Rs.2310 in Executive Cass with Rs.190 as catering charges. In the Chennai-Jolarpettai segment, the new Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai Vande Bharat will go at 130 km. This would considerably benefit passengers because the new Vande Bharat service will take only 5 hours and 50 minutes from both ends, saving one hour and 20 minutes of travel time.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express train from here on Saturday. PM Modi, who arrived in the town, signalled the start of the service from Secunderabad Railway Station. He boarded the station’s stopped train and engaged with students. The train would cut the journey time between Secunderabad, Telangana, and Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, by over three and a half hours, making it very useful for pilgrims.
