With a net worth of $11.5 billion, Telegram messenger founder Pavel Durov has maintained his title as the wealthiest businessman residing in the UAE. He has taken up position 148. Retail Tycoon and Chairman of Lulu Group Yusuffali, who has a net worth of $5.3 billion, ranks 497th on the list.
Micky Jagtiani, Chairman of Landmark Group, comes in at number 511 on the list with a net worth of $5.2 billion. Hussain Sajwani, the Founder and CEO of DAMAC Properties, follows him in the rankings at place 611 with a net worth of $4.5 billion.
With a net worth of $3.2 billion, RP Group Chairman and MD Ravi Pillai has earned the 905th position. Mashreq Bank Founder Abdulla bin Ahmad Al Ghurair and GEMS Education Group founder Sunny Varkey are tied for 982nd position with a net worth of $3 billion apiece.
With a net worth of $2.8 billion, Joy Alukkas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Joyalukkas Group, is ranked 1,067. With a global rank of 1,272 and a net worth of $2.4 billion, Abdulla Al Futtaim and family, who are the owners of the conglomerate Al Futtaim Group, rank 1272.
Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, who has a net worth of $2.2 billion and is included at number 1,368 on the list, is the tenth entrepreneur from the United Arab Emirates to be mentioned.
Among the list’s youngest UAE citizens are Durov and Dr. Shamsheer.
Forbes reports that relative to the previous year, the wealth of half of the world’s billionaires has decreased.150 billionaires joined the list for the first time, while as many as 254 persons were removed.
