Kerala has also been involved in the Centre’s process of strengthening the National Startup Ecosystem Network ahead of the G20-DIA Summit in Bengaluru this August. Kerala also participated in the event showcasing innovative solutions aimed at improving the economy and upliftment of communities.
The G20-Digital Innovation Alliance National Roadshow at Kalamassery was part of efforts to explore global potential through Kerala’s innovative companies. Incubators, Venture Capital firms, Angel Networks, Start-up Founders, Mentors, Experts and Government officials were part of the roadshow.
Kochi was the eighth venue in the G20-DIA roadshow series. Earlier locations were Surat (Gujarat), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Bangalore (Karnataka), Imphal (Manipur) and Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh).
Maker Village, the country’s largest Electronic Hardware Incubator, was the main organiser. The regional meet held at the Integrated Startup Complex featured four sessions and three panel discussions besides a product showcase by the incubated firms. The event titled ‘Digital Solutions to Solve Global Challenges’ was organised by Kerala Startup Mission and Kerala Digital University. The event, organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in collaboration with Mighty Startup Hub, identified six critical themes as Ed-Tech, Health-Tech, Agri-Tech, Fin-Tech, Secure Digital Infrastructure and Circular Economy.
The G20-DIA will conclude with a three-day summit in Bengaluru on August 16, featuring market access, corporate connections, investor connections, skilling and networking sessions. The event will see the participation of Start-ups from G20 countries and nine Guest countries. Meanwhile, G20-DIA provides an opportunity to showcase and support 174 startups from around the world.
