In order to become a major centre for App development, Dubai will increase the number of App developers in the city.
In 2021, there were 230 billion app downloads worldwide. Dubai has the potential to dominate the industry in developing innovative digital apps. “Create Apps in Dubai” was introduced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

The Higher Committee of Future Technology Development and Digital Economy launched an effort with the goal of making Dubai, the Emirate, one of the most alluring locations in the world for business prospects by 2025.
According to Sheikh Hamdan, the Emirate has transformed into a significant participant in the Global technical scene as a result of strategic investments made in the digital sector since the establishment of Internet City.
“A new global race for technical leadership has been sparked by the digital transformation that is sweeping the globe and the exponential expansion of cutting-edge digital apps and platforms,” he said.
The Chamber for Digital Economy’s “Build Apps in Dubai” programme, which is supported by Government agencies and IT firms, aims to teach a chosen group of 1,000 UAE citizens in Dubai in collaboration with the private sector. In order to empower and enable these UAE nationals to play significant roles in achieving the nation’s digital vision, the initiative will identify priority sectors and support development initiatives.
The plan also aims to assist 100 new national initiatives for the creation of cutting-edge applications that will be made accessible in digital app stores over the following 24 months, as well as triple the number of app developers by 2025.
As part of engagements designed to encourage the exchange of ideas between experts, innovators, and developers, Sheikh Hamdan met with creators of applications aimed at the Global market in the domains of Healthcare, Education, Entrepreneurship, and others.
The Emirate aims to strengthen its position as a Global launchpad for cutting-edge technology by fostering more sharing of digital and technological skills.
Growth and innovation in the market have been gaining traction, with global smartphone sales revenues expected to surpass $448 billion in 2021 and two million new applications and games being developed.
