The “Marupadi” project has successfully placed 23 Women: Zoho
Multinational technology giant Zoho Corp announced on Thursday that 23 women who participated in its “Marupadi” programme and took a career sabbatical have been effectively placed in a variety of roles across several divisions.
The city-headquartered company’s “Marupadi” programme, which means “marupadi” coming back in Tamil, was created to support women who want to return to the workforce after a break. On March 8 of last year, which fell on International Women’s Day, Zoho Corp. announced the programme.
26 women from two batches have completed training as of today, the company stated in a statement. Of these, 23 have been successfully placed in various roles at Zoho Corp., while three more are awaiting interviews.
“To aid women in technology in resuming their occupations after a break, Marupadi was created. The overwhelming response we have received over the past year is testimony to the potential that is being overlooked due to a lack of opportunities “Rajendran Dandapani, president of Zoho Schools of Learning, stated.
We are happy that Marupadi is already acting as a catalyst for change for these women, who already recognise it as a milestone, he said.
The Marupadi programme is a three-month boot camp in technical writing, software testing, and development. The programme allows the ladies who are chosen to choose their stream depending on interests. According to the organization, the candidates also benefit from counseling sessions that aid in restoring their confidence after a prolonged absence.
