New Railway Night Rules you need to know!

  • No person in their seat, compartment, or coach may use their cell phone in a loud voice.
  • Without earbuds, no passenger can listen to music at high decibel levels
  • After 10 p.m no passengers will be permitted to keep the lights on. They can, however, keep the night light on.
  • TTEs (Travelling Ticket Examiners), catering staff, and other railway authorities have also been instructed to maintain public decorum on trains and warn customers who are causing problems to their fellow passengers.
  • After 10 PM, TTE can’t come to check the ticket of the passengers
  • Passengers travelling in groups can’t interact after 10 PM
  • Lower-berth passengers cannot object if a middle-berth co-passenger opens up their seat.

Please be informed that if a passenger breaches the new restrictions, the authorities will apply harsh penalties.

Online food in train services cannot serve food after 10 PM. However, you can pre-order your meal or breakfast on the train even at night with e-catering services.

Moreover, smoking, drinking, and doing any activity against public acceptance in train compartments and carrying any inflammable object are not allowed and are against the Indian Railway rules.

While traveling by train, certain precautions must now be made. Even minor mistakes might put you at risk. To promote passenger convenience, Indian Railways has undertaken important regulatory adjustments. This should be made publicly known to all railway passengers. The railways recently adjusted night time travel and the guidelines were created with the comfort of other passengers in mind.

Indian Railways has a substantial railway network and tens of thousands of individuals utilize it every day. As a consequence, these criteria ensure that each passenger has a pleasant travel experience and that the railway network runs smoothly.
