New, reasonably priced MG EV to be known as Comet

MG Motor India today announced the name of its upcoming electric car, Comet. The MG Comet EV is anticipated to cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh in India (ex-showroom).

The business currently offers the ZS EV for sale in India for between Rs 22.98 lakh and Rs 27 lakh (ex-showroom). The MG ZS EV competes with vehicles like the BYD Atto 3 and the Hyundai Kona Electric. The MG Comet EV resembles the rebadged Wuling Air EV, which is offered in the Indonesian market, in terms of appearance.

Sources claim that the MG Comet EV may be equipped with a 25kWh battery and a 50kW motor. With a single charge, the MG Comet EV’s range is predicted to be between 200 and 300 kilometers.

The Comet EV, according to MG, is named after the renowned British aircraft that competed in the 1934 England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race.

The 2023 MG Hector was just introduced by the manufacturer in India. The SUV, which ranges in price from Rs 14.72 lakh to Rs 22.42 lakh (ex-showroom), incorporates ADAS level 2 technology. In India, MG presently offers the Astor, Hector, Gloster, and ZS EV. The company’s fifth model will be the Comet EV.
