Emirates becomes India’s largest foreign airline with 4.45 m passengers and is also the third-largest carrier including all of India’s domestic carriers according to DGCA data for the last quarter of 2022.
Mohammed Sarhan, Vice President of Emirates for India and Nepal seemed confident about the growth prospect while addressing the media and stated that India is going to be the next economic powerhouse of the world and that they don’t see flight demand slowing down anytime soon at least for the next five to 10 years.
He went on to add that even if there are more airlines in India and Emirates operates more flights from India, demand will remain high. Emirates carried 4.45 million passengers between Dubai and India last year, operating 334 weekly flights between the two destinations.
He also mentioned that there is strong demand for an expanded bilateral air services agreement, and Emirates already has interlined agreements with almost all Indian carriers.
